There is one cigar that is
sought after more so than others, the Cuban cigar. With such a high
demand for Cuban cigars, all to often counterfeit cigars find there way
into the market. With this being said, it is important to know how to
tell a real Cuban cigar as apposed to a fake one.
There are various identifiers you can look out for to help determine the
authenticity of Cuban cigars. One can examine the packaging, the box
they come and most importantly the cigar itself. Below is a list of what
to look for when determining what is a real Cuban cigar and what is not.
First, the color of all the cigars in the box should be of similar
color.
Next, and I think this goes without saying, the cigars should all be the
same size. This is one of the quickest ways to spot a fake.
Continuing, the tobacco should not be bunched up tight. Real Cuban
cigars will be finely made.
A fourth thing to look for is the lack of large veins. If the cigar does
have veins in the wrapping it should be very fine.
Fifth, the bands should be tight fitting and have a solid color.
Sixth, looking at the end of the cigar, it should be cut cleanly and
evenly.
And finally, the actual cap on the cigar should have a precise fit.
If you are able to spot and authentic Cuban cigar over a fake one you'll
save yourself a lot of money. As you may know, they are not cheap. Now
that you know how to spot a real Cuban cigar be sure to smoke wisely.
