Cohiba cigars are
painstakingly crafted in the Dominican Republic and took over six years
to develop. The rich and dark wrapper is devised of a leaf that is grown
in Cameroon. The Cohiba cigars smooth draw is due to special filler
leaves grown right in the Dominican Republic itself.
Cohiba is a native word of the Caribbean which simply means cigar. The
Dominican Cohiba cigar is the only type of Cohiba cigar that can be
purchased legally in the United States of America.
Due to the relevance the Cuban government gave to the Cohiba cigar, it
rapidly became on of the most wanted cigars in the world. The only
distributor of these Dominican made Cohiba's is General Cigars here in
the United States.
The look of the cigars consists of two thick black stripes on the top
and bottom of the band. The rest of the band is of white with the name
Cohiba in black bold letters. One signature trait that General Cigars
did, and consequently coined the term "Cohiba Red Dot" is they put a red
dot inside the O of Cohiba. As you may know, this is where the "Cohiba
Red Dot" name came from.
